The school's alumni include Mandy Moore, Spencer Locke, Arielle Kebbel, Broadway star Norm Lewis and two Miss Americas.
His love of film has led to over forty screenplays bearing his name as writer, including “THE FINAL SEASON” starring Sean Astin, Powers Boothe, Tom Arnold and Rachael Leigh Cook. “TFS” is a family film based on the true story of Norway, Iowa's vaunted high school baseball team, directed by David Mickey Evans, “The Sandlot.” TFS made its world premiere at the 2007 Tribeca Film Fesitval, hit 1,100 theaters nationwide in ‘07 via Yari Film Group, and was released on DVD by SONY in ‘08.
He also wrote and co-produced the indie thriller “ZZYZX”, which won the “Best Feature Film” award at the Miami Independent Film & Music Festival (7/06) and was runner-up at Cenflo, the Central Florida Film Festival (9/06), and the Fylmz Festival (2/07) in Nashville . “ZZYZX” is now available on DVD/Video and on Amazon Prime Video.
D'Alessandro's “SHE DRIVES ME CRAZY”, a script about sisters reconciling after years of estrangement, was produced in Canada by Shaftesbury Films and premiered on Lifetime in 2007. Starring “The OC” and “CSI” actress Melinda Clarke and produced by Kelly Rowan, SDMC is now airing on Lifetime Movie Network, Canada’s CTV and internationally. SDMC won the 2010 Gemini Award, Canada's Emmy, for "Best TV Movie."
In 2011, MAYOR CUPCAKE, written and produced by D'Alessandro, was released on VOD and DVD via Phase IV. Starring Lea Thompson, Judd Nelson, Frankie Faison and Dorian Harewood and directed by Alex Pires, CUPCAKE is a family-friendly dramedy about a cupcake baker who inadvertently becomes mayor of a small town rife with corruption.
The 1999 family comedy feature “ALL SHOOK UP” (Sarah Chalke and the late Frank Gorshin) was an official selection of both the Florida Film Festival and the Aspen Comedy Arts Festival.
D'Alessandro marked his directorial debut with the award-winning short “THE MESS” which hit the festival circuit in mid-2008, with acceptances at the Enzian Film Slam, Delray Beach Film Festival, Short Circuit Traveling Film Festival, Indie Fest USA, Charlotte Film Festival, Rappahannock Independent Film Festival, Hollywood East Film Festival, CENFLO, the Wiregrass Film Festival, and the Ft.
